I am looking forward to sharing recommendations of films that I find inspiring and entertaining. Released in 2003, Swimming Pool makes the top of my favorite movies list. Starring the always amazing Charlotte Rampling and Ludivine Sagnier, Swimming Pool is filled with mystery, melancholy, and gratuitous nudity. Thus, even though it is mostly in English, it has the typical characteristics of a moody French film. The intentionally ambiguous conclusion sparked much confusion and controversy with audiences, but it is one of those endings that keep this movie on your mind. Highly recommended with a bottle of red and a rainy day.
Starting a new project or business is terrifying. This project is something that I have wanted to do for awhile, and I have finally gathered the courage to start. I am so grateful for the positive feedback and enthusiasm Show Pony has received. My intention with this blog is to support and celebrate small business owners. When I started my business I knew absolutely nothing about the process. I literally failed math in high school and I have a BA in photography from a university that only requires a pulse to attend. Frank Di Piero is one of the coolest people I have met in a long time. I have driven by Jeri’s Grill a million times, but this was the first time I stopped in. It all started when a photo location fell through the day before we were scheduled to shoot. We were essentially being rejected from every diner in Chicago when I was fortunate enough to speak to Frank on the phone.
